The State Council of RC initiated the inclusion of the Karaites and Krymchaks in the universal list of indigenous numerically small-numbered peoples of the Russian Federation

The State Council of the Republic of Crimea approved submission to the RF Government “On inclusion in the universal list of indigenous numerically small-numbered peoples of the Russian Federation Crimean Karaites and Krymchaks”. The decision was made at the plenary session on June 25.

As was outlined by the author of the project, Chairman of Permanent Commission of SC RC on Interaction with Local Government and Administrative-Territorial System Edip Gafarov, this decision is aimed at preservation of religion, original ethnic culture and historical heritage of facts on indigenous peoples.
