The Federation Council ratified agreement on joining of Crimea to the Russian Federation and adopted the appropriate constitutional law

Today, at the 349 (extraordinary) session of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation ratified the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Crimea and considered by the Federal constitutional law on admission to the Russian Federation Republic of Crimea and the formation within the Russian Federation of new members - Republic of Crimea and city Sevastopol.

“Today we are considering two major historical normative legal act, without exaggeration their adoption can be called a historical mission”, - said Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
