Deputies of Crimean Parliament endorsed the amendments and adopted in the second reading the Law of the Republic of Crimea “On fundamentals of local self-government in the Republic of Crimea”

The decision was made at the extraordinary session of the Crimean Parliament on 8 August.

The draft law developed on the basis of the Federal law “On General principles of organization of local government in the Russian Federation”.

According to the project, exclusively by the laws of the Republic of Crimea are regulated:

establishment and change the boundaries of the territories of municipal formations;

empowerment of settlements and territories status of municipal formations;

determination of the procedure for the appointment, training, implementation, establishment of the results and determination of results of municipal elections;

establishment of the names of the representative body of the municipal formation, the head of the municipality, local administration (Executive body);

legal regulation of the municipal service;

establish procedures for the implementation of expenditures of local budgets for the implementation of selected state powers.
