The V International Festival "The Great Russian Word" was opened in Yalta

The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, and his first deputy, Konstantin Bakharev and deputy Grigoriy Ioffe, the head of Russia's State Duma Boris Gryzlov, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea, Vladimir Yatsuba, as well as members of the Presidium of the SC ARK, the mayor of Yalta Alex Boyarchuk, Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea Lazar, representatives of Ukraine and Russia, etc.

Vladimir Konstantinov emphasized that the festival had gone beyond the purely Crimean activities and had become a notable event in the social life of Ukraine.

The head of
the SC ARC also noted that that the opening of the festival had been held on the birthday of the Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. " Alexander Pushkin embodied the ideal of the Russian culture and Russian nationality", - said Vladimir Konstantinov.

On behalf of the SC of the ARC and the organizing committee of the "Great Russian Word" Crimean speaker expressed his sincere thanks to all who contributed to the implementation of a "grand cultural project."

Greetings from the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev have been received in the address of the festival.

There was concert of the Russian State Academic Choir by Pyatnitsky, Russian group "Lube" and other groups.
