Grigory Ioffe: Crimean Parliament did not take a single decision that contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine

The Supreme Council of ARC did not take a single decision that contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine. It was stated to the TV channel “Public TV” by the Vice Speaker of Crimean Parliament Grigory Ioffe on February, 4.

Commenting on the statement of the Head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Freedom of Speech and Information Mykola Tomenko that Crimean Parliament has actually started a political and legal work for withdrawal from the Ukraine, and Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine shall dissolve the Crimean Parliament, G. Joffe said:

“Fear has big eyes. No decisions associated with the change of the Constitution of Crimea, nor Crimean Parliament, nor the Presidium of the Supreme Council have not accepted”, - said G. Ioffe. According to him, at the meeting of the Presidium of the Supreme Council on February, 4 deputies expressed their views about the political situation in Ukraine: due to the fact that the country is in crisis, and some political forces, such as All Ukrainian Union “Svoboda” consider it necessary to eliminate the status of the Crimean autonomy, the ARC Constitution should provide for mechanisms for the protection of the autonomy status”.
